Recently, I’ve been on a knit kick. I’m truly addicted!! Every spare moment is spent trying to learn as much as I can and practice my knit. To speed up my learning curve, I’ve joined Craftsy and enrolled in a few of their knitting online classes. If you want to learn fast, this is the way to go. I can’t stress enough how much I learned just from a couple of classes. Some of the pictures below are from the classes.
So far, I’ve taken Hats Four Ways with Stefanie Japel, Mittens and Gloves Galore with Marly Bird. Tip: They have great deals occasionally. Speaking of great deals, this week they are having a Valentines special. I think I might just purchase another class! FYI, I’m in no way sponsored by Craftsy. I just really love their online classes and think you can benefit from it as much as I have.
I’ve made a couple of Sweet Pea beanie from the Craftsy class, Hats four ways. The green one was made for my nephew and I decided to make a red one for Christmas. I forgot to decrease gradually at the top so it looks more like a beanie instead of it’s intended style with a longer top.
The second project from this class was the ‘Wheeler’ hat. I still need to work on the stripes. I keep getting a ‘jog’ on the lines. It’s where you can see the stairstep when you add a different color or stripe. I also unintentionally made the hat big. It’s even too big for Mr. Wonderful.
The brown beret (Rosie Hat) was the last project for the class. This turned out awesome! I love it. It took so much time though, but I think if I did it again, it would take me half the time because now I won’t have to review the video for direction.
This glove is a work in progress from the Mittens and Gloves Galore class. Peace man! Actually, those fingers are for the pinky and ring finger. The stitch marker is a place holder for the thumb. I loved how the colors of the yearn turned out.
Here’s the finished glove. Hmmm, it looks a bit wonky and fits weird too. The thumb is a bit short and too much toward the palm area. Not bad for a first glove though. 🙂
In the middle of it all, I decided to make my dear friend Alica some special owl leg warmers for her birthday. Since her favorite animal is an owl. WhOOO knew! I thought they came out great! The design is Owlelly Owl leg warmers by Kat Goldin.
